Our coal products are sourced from mines around the world enabling us to provide the best quality fuel for burning on your open fire and other solid fuel appliances. Our House Coal is available in two sizes: medium-sized lumps (trebles) and large-sized lumps (cobbles). This ensures that the coal we provide you with is the most suitable for your solid fuel appliance.
Our Premium House Coal, when burned, gives off lots of heat, produces a bright yellow flame before reducing to a powdery ash. It is an is an ideal fuel for open fires and is perfect for creating that idyllic living room setting of a roaring open fire.
Here at Charlton Whitehouse Fuels we pride ourselves on sourcing the best quality fuel so that you, our customers, can make your domestic fires that burn exceptionally well. Our House Coal Doubles are sourced from Colombia in South America. The unique composition of Colombian coal, formed naturally over millions of years, provides fuel that is very hard, ignites very well and has a high-heat generating capacity.
With a low moisture content, low sulphur content and a high calorific value Colombian coal is considered to be the best quality coal available on the domestic market.Chapter 5: World Coal Quality Inventory: Colombia (2006)
Our Premium House Coal Trebles are our mid-sized product. Each piece has an approximate dimension of 50mm x 90mm. Being larger in size than Doubles means they will burn for longer.
Our Large Cobbles are the largest House Coal product in our range. Each piece has an approximate dimension of 100mm x 150mm. The larger lumps mean that fires made with Colombian Large Cobbles will last longer than all our other House Coal products and generate slightly more heat.
